Material for your epoxy works of art

At itsOkay you can find all materials and supplies for your epoxy casting resin projects. By only using high-quality materials , you ensure the best end result . It is not only the quality of the epoxy casting resin that is important for creating a beautiful work of art.

Beginners in particular sometimes find it difficult to determine which materials they need for their epoxy projects. We are therefore happy to tell you which materials you need to make epoxy art.

Silicone molds

When you start an epoxy project, you can choose to pour it onto a surface or into a silicone mold. Our high quality silicone molds are specially made for epoxy, jesmonite and plaster. These molds are made of durable silicone and have a number of important features:

Flexibility

Molds made of durable silicone are very flexible. Ideal for pouring epoxy resin. Pour epoxy into a mold and remove your work of art from the mold without damaging it. These molds are therefore ideal for detailed and valuable designs such as small jewelry or souvenir works of art.

Reusable and heat resistant

Silicone molds are ideal because they are endlessly reusable. This not only ensures that they are durable, but it also saves you costs. In addition, the silicone molds are heat resistant. This makes them ideal for working with epoxy casting resin, because epoxy generates heat during curing.

Resin art mixing cup

If you want to get started with epoxy resin, a good mixing cup is very important. A correct mixing ratio is very important for all applications. This allows you to measure the correct amounts of epoxy you need for your project.

Preferably choose a mixing cup made of silicone, such as this durable silicone mixing cup . This mixing cup is made of high-quality silicone, to which epoxy does not adhere. You can use this measuring cup while mixing and pouring your Resin Art and then easily clean and reuse it. That saves a lot of plastic and rubbish.

When mixing epoxy resin with color pigments or 2-component epoxy casting resin , it is therefore important to mix very well. An incorrect mixing ratio can result in:

Air bubbles and unevenly distributed pigments

If you do not adhere to the correct mixing ratio, you may experience unevenly distributed pigment and/or air bubbles in the epoxy resin. You obviously want to avoid this if you are going to make resin art.

Strength of epoxy

By mixing the epoxy casting resin according to the correct mixing ratio, you ensure optimal curing and durability of your creations. If you do not mix the proportions optimally, the product cannot harden completely. Therefore, always choose to work with a scale and mixing cups. After proper curing, epoxy is extremely strong, weather and water resistant.

Materials for self-protection

Although epoxy casting resin is very safe to use, good protection is never superfluous. When working with epoxy casting resin, always wear nitrile gloves , safety goggles and clothing that can be well covered and dirty. This is important to prevent the epoxy casting resin from coming into contact with the skin.
In addition, always work in a room that can be well ventilated. Open a window, for example. For prolonged exposure to epoxy, a half mask and good protective work clothing are required.

Materials for workplace protection

Furthermore, it is important to ensure a well-protected workplace . If you spill epoxy resin, it will be difficult to remove it. Very annoying, of course, if it falls on your table or kitchen counter, for example. A silicone mat can therefore be highly recommended when processing epoxy casting resin. After crafting, you can simply remove the leftover epoxy resin from the mat and use it again. Convenient and durable!

Pigments for unique effects

A common material used for an epoxy application is pigment . By using pigment you can easily add the most beautiful colors and effects to your creations. At itsOkay you can choose from more than 100 colors such as black, white, gold, blue or green. This is of course ideal if you want to make beautiful jewelry or coasters.

For example, when you make jewelry or coasters with pigment, you can choose how much pigment you want to use. This allows you to make the color as dark or light as you want.

Epoxy casting resin with low viscosity

For some resin art applications it is important to use resin with a low viscosity. This means that the epoxy resin flows thinly. The UltraEpoxy is an epoxy with a low viscosity . makes this epoxy very suitable for making Resin Art jewelry, coasters, orgonites and even paintings. You can also use this epoxy very well to fill silicone molds. When you start pouring or coating, a low viscosity is very important. This allows you to distribute the resin more easily and evenly.
An epoxy with a high viscosity is very thick and flows less. The casting resin 1:1 is an epoxy with a high viscosity. You use this epoxy for making geodes and other projects where you do not want the different colors of epoxy to blend into each other.

What can you use epoxy for?

With resin art you can make different types of art. It doesn't matter whether you want to coat paintings or make jewelry, you can do it all with epoxy resin.

More and more people are choosing epoxy to coat a painting, statue or table. Because epoxy resin from our factory is very clear and transparent, you can easily provide an object with a beautiful and protective coating layer. Would you prefer a color instead of transparent epoxy? Then you can use pigment . This allows you to achieve the best end results. You can of course find all materials and supplies in our webshop!
