With the Epoxy jewelry making starter kit from itsOkay you immediately have a nice resin art kit to start with. The kit contains 3 molds with different shapes. You can use these to make pendants. The kit also contains:
- a silicone mold for a bracelet and/or a ring
- four different molds for earrings
- globe mold, stirring sticks
- spoons and pipettes
- twist drill
- screw eyes and glitter powder
- UV Resin jewelry resin

Isabel and I both choose a pendant. She chooses a round one with a large hole and I choose a drop-shaped pendant. She thinks it is great that we are going to make jewelry from epoxy resin together. After our choice, we pour some UV Resin jewelry resin into it. This is very easy to do by removing the top cap from the bottle. This leaves you with a small “spout” with which you can easily pour the resin into your mold. We sprinkle some red and gold glitter on the resin.
We let the resin harden (under the UV led lamp ) and then pour the remaining resin into the mold. The glitters go in all directions and spread over the resin. In the meantime I find the glitters everywhere. Not every container was closed properly, so both the box and the plastic bag it was in are covered in glitters. And my table is also full of glitters . Ah yes, a kind of sparkle up your life.
After the mold is completely filled with resin we put the mold in the sun (or under the UV Resin led lamp ). I decide to also make earrings. So I take the mold with the three drops and fill them with resin. Isabel adds the red glitter, tapping softly on the jar.
I also put this one in the sun, because in the meantime Joshua also wants to make something beautiful with the resin jewelry. His eye falls on the puzzle piece. He wants that on his bag. He looks for some nice things to go with it and I get the nail polish out of the cupboard. I have seen on YouTube that you can also color the resin with nail polish.
Joshua goes for yellow and chooses some gold decorations . Super fun! Resin in, decorations on top. Nail polish and a bit more resin: it gives a cool effect. With this package you can not only make jewelry from resin, but also cool key rings!
We let the puzzle piece harden under the UV Resin LED lamp from itsOkay. You have to connect this to a USB port. Luckily we have a power strip where you can also connect a USB. So that went quickly. I turned it on, but soon found out that it goes off after 45 seconds (itsOkay: the lamp burns exactly long enough to harden the resin) . If you press it once, it goes on for 45 seconds and if you hold the button longer, it goes on for 60 seconds, so you have to sit with it for a while or your resin will not harden quickly.
My children Isabel and Joshua really got into resin jewelry, so they had to add a keychain. No sooner said than done. It's all so easy. And the cool thing is, we now have our own jewelry with "a touch of red" in it! Maybe we'll also make a bracelet with red flowers. You can do so many things with UV Resin jewelry resin. In any case, we achieved our goal and ended up making more than we planned. Two beautiful pendants, a set of earrings (I still have to buy the pendants) and three keychains.
I'm afraid we have an addiction. Making resin art jewelry with epoxy resin yourself is so much fun.
