Make your own vase with epoxy resin

Make a vase yourself. What is more fun to make, than something that you can also use in daily life! You can make this vase too! And the best part is that you can use it yourself or give it as a gift to someone.

Supplies:
- Epoxy casting resin 1:1
- Scale
- Silicone mold | Modern vase + glass tubes

Possibly:
- Pigments , decoration and/or glitters
- Gloves
- Mixing spatulas
- Mixing cups (preferably silicone)
- Heat tool or lighter (for air bubbles) and baby wipes (in case of spills)

I use Epoxy casting resin 1:1 for making the openers. This resin is cheap for large surfaces and very easy to use. The instructions for mixing are on the packaging and the product page, but it is not that difficult.
With the Silicone mold vase you have the choice of three different shapes. This time I make the square one.

Step 1: Mixing Epoxy

I use the Epoxy casting resin 1:1 . So you mix this resin 1:1. First prepare a total of about 260 grams of epoxy resin according to the instructions on the bottle. So 130 grams of component A and 130 grams of component B. Stir this gently for a few minutes.

After stirring, let the epoxy rest for a moment, this way most of the air bubbles will slowly rise and break. Then I add 30 grams (YES 30 grams) of glitter! Stir this gently through the epoxy as well.

Step 2: Assembling the mold

To use this mold you need to insert a separate part. Place the short round silicone tube into the opening of the mold. Make sure it is in properly.

Step 3: The pour epoxy resin into the mold

Pour the epoxy resin quietly in the mold. I make a circle in the mold so that everything is well distributed. Make sure there is a small bulge at the edge of the mold. I do this because epoxy always shrinks a little and this way you have the best result.

Step 4: Wait

Wait 24 to 48 hours before removing your mold. This is the curing time of this epoxy resin.

Step 5: Removing your creation from the mold

This is always my favorite part... removing the mold. Because this is quite a large item, I first loosen all the sides and then remove the entire mold. Once the vase is out of the mold, you can also remove the silicone tube. This is also the entrance for the glass tube. Gently remove the creation from the mold and do not pull, as this could damage your mold.

Nice ideas!
- Use two colors of epoxy pigment
- Add dried flowers

Have lots of fun. Love Petra.
