Zelf een orgonite met epoxy maken - itsOkay

Make your own orgonite with epoxy

Making your own orgonite is easier than you might think. Bring positive energy into your home by making your own orgonite. After reading this fun DIY, you will know exactly how to make your own orgonite.

What is an orgonite?

An orgonite is inspired by the word "orgon," which stands for life energy. These special objects are often cast in a pyramid shape, but they can also be round. Orgonites consist of a mix of organic and inorganic materials that are cast in casting resin, such as copper wire, gemstones, metal chips and pigments. Although the pyramid shape is the most common, you can also be creative with, for example, silicone cupcake molds for a round shape.

In this example we do not use gemstones or metals. This is why you cannot call this pyramid orgonite with healing properties. Of course you can choose your own materials per layer, which will create a healing effect.

Which epoxy for making an orgonite?

The best epoxy for making an orgonite is the UltraEpoxy Premium Art. This 'art epoxy' offers the best quality. You don't want bubbles in your beautiful orgonite or the orgonite to yellow in the long term. This epoxy has the least bubbles, extreme clarity and high UV resistance. The UltraEpoxy is also easy to process for beginners.

Preparation

Think carefully about what you want to make. What colours do you like? What should your orgonite radiate? Browse around on the itsOkay website and choose which decorations you want to incorporate into your orgonite . The orgonite pyramid consists of multiple layers of epoxy. You pour the orgonite per layer because you can usually not pour epoxy thicker than 2-3 cm per layer. Each layer must dry for 24/48 hours before you start on the next layer.

Processing the epoxy

Make sure you have everything ready before you start pouring. If your work surface is crooked, the epoxy will also flow crooked and you don't want that. Your work surface must therefore be level. There are apps for this on your mobile phone, if you don't have a spirit level at home. Are you going to pour transparently? Then always add UV blocker to your epoxy mixture.

I use the UltraEpoxy Premium Art. This is a high quality resin suitable for this kind of projects. The total amount of epoxy you need for your project depends on the content of the mold. The product page of the silicone molds from itsOkay indicates how much epoxy you need.
Weigh the two components accurately on a scale and mix the epoxy in a silicone mixing cup. How much epoxy you need
depends on how thick you are going to pour per layer.

Pouring the orgonite layer by layer

If you are going to pour the mold in 4 layers, divide the total epoxy required by 4. You then make 1/4 part and pour this for the first layer.
Mix the required amount of UltraEpoxy Premium Art in a mixing cup. You can pour the layers transparently or add decorations such as gold flakes, metals, color pigments to the mixture. Stir thoroughly for 4 minutes. Also scrape along the edges and bottom of the mixing cup.

Pour the epoxy into the silicone mold pyramid/orgonite. Make sure the epoxy is evenly distributed. After pouring, you can optionally add a decoration such as a dried flower to the epoxy in the mold. The first layers will form the top of the orgonite and so you have a unique eye-catcher on the top!
After pouring, let the epoxy rest for a few minutes and then pop any air bubbles with a heat tool or use the Bubble Blaster spray.

Please note: it is important that the mold is level while drying. Otherwise, you run the risk of the epoxy drying at an angle.

pour flower

For making this orgonite pyramid we have chosen the colors pink. This pink color is the color of love and power. And everyone can use that.
We poured the first layer with a light pink metallic pearl pigment . You can of course choose your own favorite colors. After pouring, let the epoxy rest for a few minutes and then pop any air bubbles with a heat tool or use the Bubble Blaster spray.

Mix the required amount of UltraEpoxy Premium Art for the next layer in a mixing cup and add any fun decorations or pigment colors. Let the epoxy rest for a few minutes after pouring and then pop any air bubbles with a heat tool or use the Bubble Blaster spray.

pouring gold flakes and glitter

On top of the gold layer we poured (after 24 hours) another pink layer. Choose your favorite color or decorations. Let the epoxy rest for a few minutes and pop the air bubbles with a heat tool or use the Bubble Blaster spray.

In the next layer (after 24 hours) we have incorporated gemstones . Pour the epoxy on top of the previous layer. Add the stones and spread them with a stick. Make sure they are well against the edges, because that is where you will see them best later. Let the epoxy rest for a few minutes and pop the air bubbles with a heat tool or use the Bubble Blaster spray.

For the final layer we chose a dark pigment color in combination with copper metal shavings .

An orgonite works by the organic materials, such as resin, absorbing orgone energy, while the metal parts (inorganic materials) release this energy. During this process, the energy is purified, resulting in the release of positive energy.

Removing the orgonite pyramid from the mold

When the epoxy casting resin has hardened after 24-48 hours , you can remove the orgonite from the mold. After this, you can still finish the orgonite.

The edges of the bottom may still feel sharp. You can remove sharp edges with fine-grit sandpaper. Then clean the orgonite with a soft, wet cloth. Then stick a nice orgonite sticker on the orgonite and give it a nice spot.
