    With other types of epoxy it is often necessary to add a UV stabilizer and hardener. Here you work with a mixing ratio of 1:1 or 1:6. This often goes wrong, causing the resin to no longer harden. You do not have this problem with ready-made UV resin.

    How do you use UV Resin?

    1. Make sure you have a large work surface set up in advance where you can start pouring. Preferably use a silicone work mat or newspapers/garbage bags as a surface for accidental resin spills.
    2. When working with UV resin, use only transparent silicone molds , such as those sold on our website. Make sure your molds are all clean and your work table is level. Is there dust or glitter on the mold? Remove it with a piece of tape.

      Tip! Are you going to cast objects (photos) or dried small flowers? Then always cast this in layers. First cast a thin layer of resin in which you will later place the object. Let this layer harden first. Then apply the next layer.

      Useful to know! Are you adding a photo or drawing to the resin? Laminate it first or print it out on transparent paper. Otherwise, the resin can affect the photo or drawing.

    Tips for curing DIY projects with UV resin

    1. UV resin dries by means of UV light. This means in direct sunlight. This also works in cloudy conditions. UV resin does not dry inside in front of a window.
    2. Do not work in direct sunlight or a room with a lot of sun or daylight otherwise the resin may harden immediately while working.
    3. Lay your creation level in direct sunlight/clouds. Use a UV LED lamp for faster curing.
    4. After curing, turn the mold or object over and let the other side dry.
    5. Never add too much pigment to resin. The composition of the resin will then no longer be correct. As a result, the resin will not harden.
    6. Do not use UV Blocker in combination with UV resin. This will not cure properly.
    7. Do not use UV resin for surfaces thicker than 0.5 cm or wide surfaces such as a bookmark or coaster.
