UV Resin - Jewelry Resin

    Description

UV resin ready-made of top quality. Specially developed for making jewelry, key rings and other small art.

UV resin is ready-to-use and fast drying . This is the most commonly used resin for making jewelry . Thanks to a handy spout, you can pour UV resin directly from the bottle into a silicone mold. Also extremely suitable for application as a topcoat (protective layer) for polymer clay, jewelry and other art.

With other types of epoxy it is often necessary to add a UV stabilizer and hardener. Here you work with a mixing ratio of 1:1 or 1:6. This often goes wrong, causing the resin to no longer harden. You do not have this problem with ready-made UV resin.

    Benefits of UV Resin

    • Ready to use (do not mix)
    • Top quality | Ordered 100,000+ times
    • Good UV resistance
    • No to few bubbles
    • Hardens in minutes. Works every time and no hassle!
    • Color: transparent
    • 15, 25, 100 and 200 grams. Smaller bottles are handy for finer work.
    • Quality guarantee period: 12 months (store in cool, dry place, keep away from light)
    • In combination with a casting mold you can make beautiful jewelry, key chains or other items. The resin is shiny and can be supplemented with pigments or glitters. In addition, your artwork will not quickly yellow, due to the good UV resistance.

    Curing time UV Resin

    • UV resin led lamp : a few minutes (both sides)
    • Direct sunlight (sunny day): 5-10 minutes
    • Direct sunlight (cloudy day): 30-45 minutes

    UV Resin ready to use

UV resin is a 1-component resin that hardens very quickly. Pour the resin directly from the bottle onto the object or into the silicone mold. UV resin hardens through UV light. In direct sunlight or under a UV epoxy lamp, the resin dries within 1-2 minutes. Because of the fast hardening and ease of use, this resin is often ordered for making jewelry. UV resin is also extremely suitable for application as a topcoat (protective layer) for e.g. polymer clay, jewelry, stones and other small art objects.

UV resin is suitable for thin layers up to 0.5 cm per layer. Do not use UV resin for large projects such as casting bookmarks, coasters, etc. Epoxy that is suitable for larger projects is our UltraEpoxy .

    UV Resin for Jewelry Making

UV resin is ideal for jewelry making for a number of reasons. One major advantage is the fast curing time of UV resin in combination with UV light. This allows you to make jewelry quickly, without a long waiting time while curing.

Another advantage of UV resin is the clear and glossy finish, which makes it very suitable for finishing polymer clay jewelry, for example. In addition, UV resin is very durable and resistant to scratches. This keeps your artwork or jewelry beautiful for a long time.

Another nice advantage is that UV resin is suitable for multiple techniques. UV resin is used for example to enclose objects or to create different layers. This is of course ideal if you want to make unique art.

    Pigment for UV resin art

UV resin from itsOkay is of high quality and very transparent (clear) in color. Do you prefer a color? With special color pigments you can give your Resin Art a unique twist. Achieve a beautiful golden color with metallic powder or go for a transparent color with transparent pigment.
You can also combine colours with each other, which allows you to create special effects with your resin art resin. Quickly view all colour pigments specifically for Resin Art.

    Why choose UV Resin?

UV resin has a number of significant advantages. Let's take a closer look at these.

    1. Ready to use immediately

First of all, it is the easiest resin to use, because you do not have to mix it because it already has the right mixing ratio. UV resin can be poured directly into a silicone mold or applied to a surface as a coating.

This ready-to-use resin is therefore ideal if you want to make small works of art, jewelry or key rings.

    2. No hardener needed

UV resin also hardens very quickly, allowing you to create the most beautiful creations within minutes.

    3. Suitable for different surfaces

UV resin casting resin easily adheres to different types of surfaces. You can therefore use it for metal, concrete, plastic and wood. This allows you to process UV resin in different ways. You can apply it as a transparent coating, but also create completely new art.

    4. UV resin is water resistant

UV resin is a resin that goes perfectly with water. Please note that the components can be toxic to aquatic organisms. Coating or making products for an aquarium, for example, is therefore strongly discouraged.

    Working with UV Resin

When pouring UV resin into a silicone mold, it is advisable to use a silicone mat . A silicone mat protects your workspace while pouring resin. Simply remove the resin residue from the mat and prevent resin from spilling onto the table.

If you don't have a silicone mat at hand, you can also use another protection such as a plastic sheet.

    Silicone Mold for UV Resin

You can pour UV resin into a silicone mold or apply it directly to an object. If you are going to pour UV resin into a silicone mold, it is important that you choose high-quality transparent silicone molds. When you pour the resin into a colored mold, such as a pink or dark mold, the UV rays cannot penetrate the resin properly and your artwork cannot harden properly. At itsOkay we only offer high-quality transparent molds.

    Processing time of UV Resin

UV resin is a ready-to-use 1-component resin and hardens within minutes by means of UV light. When using normal 2-component epoxy, hardening usually takes 24-48 hours. This makes UV resin much easier and faster to use. UV resin is often used for making jewelry, key chains and other small objects.

When you use a good quality UV epoxy lamp, the curing will be even faster. At itsOkay we sell various UV lamps especially for UV resin.

How do you use UV Resin?

    1. Make sure you have a large work surface set up in advance where you can start pouring. Preferably use a silicone work mat or newspapers/garbage bags as a surface for accidental resin spills.
    2. When working with UV resin, use only transparent silicone molds , such as those sold on our website. Make sure your molds are all clean and your work table is level. Is there dust or glitter on the mold? Remove it with a piece of tape.

Tip! Are you going to cast objects (photos) or dried small flowers? Then always cast this in layers. First cast a thin layer of resin in which you will later place the object. Let this layer harden first. Then apply the next layer.

Useful to know! Are you adding a photo or drawing to the resin? Laminate it first or print it out on transparent paper. Otherwise, the resin can affect the photo or drawing.

    3. You apply UV resin directly to an object or pour directly into a silicone mold. With special color pigments you can give your Resin Art a unique twist. See our color pigments for epoxy. Are you going for a beautiful opaque color or are you going for a transparent color?
    4. When working with epoxy, air bubbles can occur. Many customers remove these with a lighter. This works well, but be careful when doing this, otherwise the epoxy can stick to the mold. If you let the epoxy rest for a while after pouring, most air bubbles will pop on their own.
    5. UV resin hardens by means of UV light (sunlight). Be careful. If you do it right, it will dry within a few minutes.

Tips for curing DIY projects with UV resin

    1. UV resin dries by means of UV light. This means in direct sunlight. This also works in cloudy conditions. UV resin does not dry inside in front of a window.
    2. Do not work in direct sunlight or a room with a lot of sun or daylight otherwise the resin may harden immediately while working.
    3. Lay your creation level in direct sunlight/clouds. Use a UV LED lamp for faster curing.
    4. After curing, turn the mold or object over and let the other side dry.
    5. Never add too much pigment to resin. The composition of the resin will then no longer be correct. As a result, the resin will not harden.
    6. Do not use UV Blocker in combination with UV resin. This will not cure properly.
    7. Do not use UV resin for surfaces thicker than 0.5 cm or wide surfaces such as a bookmark or coaster.
    8. By using a UV lamp, you can shorten the processing time even further. The product is UV resistant, allowing you to create the most beautiful works of art.

    Working with UV Resin tips

    • Use a Uv resin led lamp for fast curing of UV resin. In just a few minutes UV resin is cured under a real uv resin led lamp. Such a lamp is very handy, because you can work quickly with it.
    • Remove sharp edges with pliers, scissors or deburrer.
    • Is the resin still sticky? If the resin is still sticky, you need to let the resin harden longer. Place the resin in direct sunlight or under a UV resin lamp for a few minutes. The stickiness will disappear by itself.
