UV Resin - Jewelry Epoxy Resin

    Description

UV Resin. This epoxy has been specially developed by us to make the most beautiful jewelry and art.

This epoxy is ready-to-use and quick drying. Most commonly used epoxy for jewelry making . Thanks to a handy spout you can pour the epoxy directly from the bottle into a silicone mold. Also extremely suitable for application as a top coat (protective layer) for polymer clay, jewelry and other art.

With other types of epoxy it is often necessary to add a UV stabilizer and hardener. Here you work with a mixing ratio of, for example, 1:1 or 1:6. This often goes wrong and the epoxy no longer hardens. You do not have this problem with this ready-made epoxy (resin)!

    Advantages of UV Resin

    • Top quality and ordered 100,000+ times
    • No or few bubbles
    • Good UV resistance
    • Hard with few minutes. Always works and no hassle!
    • Colour: transparent

    UV Resin ready-made

UV Resin is an epoxy resin that you do not need to mix. It is ready-to-use and dries quickly! You pour this resin epoxy directly from the bottle onto the object or into the silicone mold. UV Resin hardens within 1-2 minutes by means of UV light and is for this reason often ordered for making jewelry, but is also extremely suitable for application as a top coat (protective layer) for e.g. polymer clay, jewelry, stones or making small art objects.

Do not use UV Resin for projects deeper than 1 cm or wide surfaces such as casting a bookmark or sphere. Epoxy that is suitable for larger surfaces is the UltraEpoxy.

    UV Resin for jewelry making

UV Resin is ideal for jewelry making for a number of different reasons. A major advantage is the fast curing time of the epoxy in combination with UV light. This allows you to make jewelry quickly, without a long wait during hardening.

Another advantage of UV Resin is the clear and glossy finish, making it very suitable for finishing polymer clay jewelry, for example. In addition, UV Resin is very durable and resistant to scratches. This keeps your works of art or jewelry beautiful for a long time.

Another nice advantage is that UV Resin is suitable for multiple techniques. UV resin is used, for example, to embed objects or create different layers. This is of course ideal if you want to make unique art.

    Pigment for UV Resin art

Our UV resin is of high quality and very transparent (clear) in color. Would you prefer a tan? You can give your Resin Art a unique twist with special color pigments. Achieve a beautiful golden color with metallic powder or go for a transparent color with transparent pigment.
You can also combine colors, allowing you to create special effects with your resin art. Quickly view all color pigments especially for Resin Art.

    Why choose UV Resin?

UV Resin resin therefore has a number of significant advantages. First of all, it is the easiest epoxy resin to use, because you do not have to mix it. UV Resin can be poured directly into a silicone mold or applied to a surface as a coating. This ready-made epoxy is therefore ideal if you want to make small works of art, jewelry or key rings. UV Resin also hardens very quickly, allowing you to make the most beautiful creations within minutes.

    UV resin is water resistant

Epoxy adheres easily to different types of surfaces. You can therefore use it for metal, concrete, plastic and wood, for example. This allows you to process UV epoxy resin in different ways. You can apply it as a transparent coating, but you can also create completely new art.

Although UV Resin is a resin that combines perfectly with water, it is toxic to aquatic organisms. Coating or making products for an aquarium, for example, is therefore strongly discouraged.

    Working with UV Resin

When you pour UV Resin into a silicone mold, it is advisable to use a silicone mat . A silicone mat protects your workplace while pouring epoxy. Simply remove the leftover epoxy resin from the mat and at the same time prevent epoxy from spilling on the table.

Don't have a silicone mat at hand? Then you can also use other protection such as a plastic sheet.

    Silicone mold for UV Resin

You can pour UV Resin into a silicone mold or apply it directly to an object. If you are going to pour UV Resin into a silicone mold, it is important that you choose transparent, high-quality silicone molds. When you pour the resin into a colored mold, such as a pink or dark mold, the UV rays cannot penetrate the resin properly and your work of art cannot harden properly. At itsOkay we only offer high quality transparent molds.

    Processing time of UV Resin

UV Resin is a ready-to-use 1-component epoxy, the resin hardens within a few minutes using UV light. When using normal 2-part epoxy, curing usually takes 24-48 hours. This makes UV Resin much easier and faster to use. UV resin is widely used for making jewelry, key chains and other small objects.

If you use a high-quality UV epoxy resin lamp, curing will be even faster. At itsOkay we sell various UV lamps especially for UV Resin.

How do you use UV Resin?

    1. Make sure you have created a spacious work surface in advance where you can start pouring. Preferably use a silicone work mat or newspapers/garbage bags as a surface to prevent accidental spills of resin.

    2. When working with UV Resin, only use transparent silicone molds , such as those available for sale on our website. Make sure your molds are all clean and your work table is level. Is there dust or glitter on the mold? Then remove it with a piece of adhesive tape.

    > Are you going to pot objects (photos) or dried small flowers? Then you always pour this in layers. First you make a thin layer of epoxy where you soon it insert object. Let this layer harden first. After this, apply the next layer.
    > Do you add a photo or drawing to the epoxy? Then laminate it first or print it out on transparent paper. Otherwise, the epoxy may damage the photo or drawing.

    3. You apply UV Resin directly to an object or pour directly into a silicone mold. You can give your Resin Art a unique twist with special color pigments. See our color pigments for epoxy. Are you going for a nice opaque color or are you going for a transparent color?

    4. Air bubbles may form when working with epoxy. Many customers remove these with a lighter. This works well, but be careful otherwise the epoxy may stick to the mold. If you let the epoxy sit for a while after pouring, most of the air bubbles will pop on their own.

    5. UV Resin hardens using UV light (sunlight). NB. If you do it right, it will dry in minutes. The following is important:
    • UV Resin dries using UV light . This means in direct sunlight. This also works when it is cloudy. UV Resin does not dry indoors in front of a window.
    • Do not work in direct sunlight or an area with a lot of sunlight or daylight, otherwise the epoxy may immediately harden while working.
    • Level your creation in direct sun /cloud cover. Use a UV Epoxy LED lamp for faster curing.
    • After curing, turn the mold or object over and let the other side dry .
    • Never add too much pigment to epoxy. The composition of the epoxy is then no longer correct. This will prevent the epoxy from hardening.
    • Do not use UV Blocker in combination with UV Resin. This will not harden properly.
    • Do not use UV Resin for surfaces thicker than 1 cm or wide surfaces such as a bookmark or coaster.

    Working with UV Resin tips!

    • Our experts recommend using a UV Epoxy Resin lamp to cure UV Resin faster. UV Resin always dries within a few minutes per side under our special lamps. That is very convenient, because you do not have to move your creation outside (the sun).
    • Remove rough edges with pliers, scissors or deburrer.
    • Is your epoxy artwork or coating still sticky? Stickiness is usually caused by the artwork being removed from a mold too quickly. The drying process is not yet complete. You can place your UV Resin creation back in the sun or under a UV lamp if you have one. The stickiness will then disappear automatically.
