What are silicone molds?
As the name suggests, these molds are made of silicone. This makes these molds flexible, allowing you to easily remove your creations from the mold . This is a major advantage over molds made of other materials, where you could potentially damage your creation when removing it from the mold.
Another advantage of our high-quality silicone molds is that you can use them multiple times . You can easily clean the mold with a mild soapy solution for the next use. Please note that our molds are not suitable for the dishwasher or to place in the oven.
Working with silicone molds
Working with silicone molds is actually very simple. You pour the filler, such as epoxy , jesmonite or plaster, into the mold and let it harden. When the filler has completely hardened, you can easily remove it from the flexible mold. Of course, do this carefully to prevent damaging your creation. You can then finish your artwork further. Maintenance of silicone molds
As indicated, you can simply clean a silicone mold with a mild detergent such as dishwashing liquid and warm water. We advise against using scouring pads when cleaning your silicone mold. These can scratch the mold, which you can then see in your final creation. Did you use glitter in the silicone mold? You can easily remove this with, for example, a piece of tape.
After use and cleaning it is important to store your silicone mold dust-free. For example, you can store it in the original packaging or in plastic foil. We also recommend storing the mold flat to prevent it from deforming.
